What is the difference between seed and culinary garlic?
Seed Garlic: The cloves from seed garlic bulbs are typically larger, as they are selected for their size and quality to ensure robust plants. Farmers often use the largest cloves for planting, as they tend to produce the strongest and most productive garlic plants. Seed garlic bulbs will be around 2 inches in diameter with approximately 8 bulbs per pound.
Culinary Garlic: Culinary garlic may come in a range of sizes as it is grown and sold for eating, selected for flavor and appearance rather than for planting. Culinary garlic will be smaller than 2 inches in diameter with approximately 10 bulbs per pound.
This may vary by variety.
